What is Librarians Online?

Librarians Online is a collaborative virtual reference service of the Maricopa County Community College District available to students 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Librarians from all 10 MCCCD colleges and after hours from OCLC's 24/7 librarian staff are available online, in real time, to assist students, faculty, and staff with any information need. We are almost always able to help you online. If not, we will refer you to the most direct source to get your questions answered. We do not provide legal, medical, or financial advice.

We are able to teach you how to:
  • use the library online catalog for finding books and other materials on your topic
  • locate articles on your research topic using our subscription databases
  • evaluate web sites related to your topic for credibility and authority.
Librarians Online uses OCLC's QuestionPoint software. Technical requirements

Privacy Statement

The Librarians Online service respects patron privacy and confidentiality, and observes applicable laws, policies, and professional codes of conduct. Transcripts of sessions are kept at the QuestionPoint 24/7 Reference secure server and used for analysis only. In keeping with library policy, customer information is considered confidential and accessible only by designated library staff.

E-mail addresses are not required to use the service, but when available are used to send you a transcript of your session or to follow-up on a particular question that could not be answered in the live chat. No e-mail addresses are provided to entities outside of the libraries providing service.
