The TABE is a test the Transition Program uses to help you understand your level now and to help identify areas you need to improve before taking a college class. You can take this test when you are in an advanced level ESOL class. The TABE is also used to show that you are ready to enter a Transition Writing workshop. Students must have a score of 550 to be accepted into the workshop. The CELSA is the English Language Placement Test used at the colleges to place you in the right class for your ability. Transition advisors facilitate writing workshops for ESOL students to prepare them for college level ESL classes.
