The Work-Based Education programs at ASPC-Lewis and Perryville provide valuable training in real-world marketable skills. The competencies learned in the automotive, construction, computer, and the culinary arts fields, along with other programs, present new opportunities for personal growth and employment. In addition to skill development in demand occupations, students develop positive work habits and interpersonal and communication skills in a work enviornment that puts learning first.

To further compliment their training, the partnership with the Arizona Correctional Industires (ACI) places students in jobs while they are training. The industries and enterprises operated by ACI provide employment in the manufacturing of products or production of services as needed for the construction, operation, maintenance or use of any office, department, institution or agency supported by the state, its political subdivisions, or for sale to the public. Being able to work and support your family is one of the four core building blocks for community success. ACI provides business and industry activities which trains and employs offenders in jobs that reflect employment opportunities found in the community.

The partnership between Rio Salado College and the Arizona Department of Corrections helps reduce recidivism.
