Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC)

AGEC is a 35 semester credit block of lower division general education courses designed for students transferring to public universities. Certified completion of the block satisfies admission requirements to an Arizona university.

Degrees

Associate in Arts (AA) Degree
The degree is designed for students who plan to transfer into liberal arts and other majors.

Associate in Business (ABUS) Degree
The degree is designed for students who plan to transfer into business majors.

Associate in Science (AS) Degree
The degree is designed for students who plan to transfer into majors with more stringent mathematics and mathematics-based science requirements.

Transfer Partnership Associate in Arts Degree
Recommended for students who have identified Business, Psychology, Elementary Education, or Social Work as their major and are transferring to Arizona State University Main or Arizona State University West.

Associate in General Studies (AGS) Degree
Recommended to students whose educational goals require flexibility. The AGS allows students to choose any elective courses numbered 100 or above to complete the degree. Therefore, this degree may be less appropriate for students who intend to transfer to a baccalaureate-granting institution.

Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degrees and Certificates
Recommended for students who wish to gain a depth of technical expertise by completing an occupational program presented in the college catalog.
