ABE Transition Program
As Arizona's high-tech economy marches head-first into the 21st century, we face a growing need for a highly skilled workforce. Rio Salado is working hard to address this need with programs like the ABE Transition Program to deliver higher education to underserved populations.
Program Mission
The mission of the ABE Transition Program is to provide information, support and guidance to our adult GED and ESOL students as they transition into post secondary opportunities within the Maricopa Community College District.
The ABE Transition Program Scholarship:
- Pays for up to 6 credit hours at any Maricopa Community College in any two semesters
- Pays for registration fees and any special fees connected to the class the scholarship is paying for
- Pays for an additional class in college survival skills for GED students who wish to have more support their first semester
- Lets you get started immediately while Transition advisors help you find out more about financial aid
We accomplish this through a wide array of services that include:
- Personalized advisement at a location convenient to the student
- Start-up scholarships and information about financial aid
- Free workshops in writing, computer skills and other topics
- Assistance with registration and orientation to college
